TIP - INSTALLING A “BASIC” PARQUET

MATERIALS NEEDED
- Oxydrine type detergent (depends on the surface)
- Stratiprim bonding primer (ref. ST500)
- MSPS parquet glue (ref. CO5MSPS)
- Possibly leveling for leveling (ref. RA15000, RA5000)
- Plastic bag, paper towel
- Orbital or belt sander
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1 - Support
- Make sure it is clean and dry.
- For new tiles, wait 4 weeks for drying. Concerning the cement leveling, wait 1 week minimum.
On old tiles, clean with an oxydrine-type detergent then rinse thoroughly and ensure that the room temperature is 15-20°C and that the humidity in the room is around 50%.
STEP 2 - Preparation
- Open the packaging and place the parquet on the floor of the future room to be used for a few days so that it adapts to the humidity of the room.
Never install a parquet floor with a humidity level greater than 12%!
NB: On heated floors, check the compatibility of the parquet, turn on the heating for 1 week then turn it off 24 hours before installation. Complete the steps below. After gluing, wait at least 1 week before turning the heating back on very gradually.
STEP 3 - Implementation
- If the floor is porous, use our Stratiprim primer, spread the MSPS glue (approximately 1.5 kg per m²) with a 3mm notched spatula.
STEP 4 - Installation
- Glue plot by plot.
- Then place the blades on the floor as you go. The parquet must be stopped approximately 5mm from the edge of the partitions.
STEP 5 - Drying
- The parquet bonding is dry in at least 24 hours.
STEP 6 - Sanding
- Carry out a light finishing ginning to avoid any possible desewing.
STEP 7 - Finishing
- Apply the desired treatment (vitrimat, sealer or other sealant) to a clean floor.
