WEST SYSTEM Fillers

With fillers, you can modify your WEST SYSTEM epoxy mix for specific applications. You choose the filler that is right for your project.

Adhesive & fairing

Each filler has a unique set of physical characteristics, but they can generally be classified into two categories: adhesive (high density) and fairing (low density) fillers. Adhesive fillers mixed with epoxy result in a strong, hard-to-sand material useful in structural epoxy applications such as bonding. Fairing fillers mixed with epoxy result in a lightweight, easily sandable material, typically used for surface applications such as shaping, filling or fairing.

Adding filler to a mixture of epoxy resin and hardener allows you to control the consistency of the epoxy, fill gaps in joints, create strong or sandable joints with the epoxy, or change the density of the cured epoxy to make it easier to sand.
